Connecting Melbourne funk with traditional German brewing know-how, Burnley Brewing is a thriving, independently owned Melbourne brewery.
From 2017, we’ve been known for our quality beers – unique, singular and distinctive. In fact, we were voted best new brewery in 2019 and have enjoyed several awards since.
At our Bridge Road, Richmond HQ we pour freshly brewed beers straight from our tanks, zero mile beer.
Award-winning independently owned brewery, Burnley Brewing, is now being run by Chloe Hoiberg and Michael Stanzel.

Their mission? To combine traditional German beer making with Melbourne funk.
Michael, our head brewer, began learning the craft before he could even drink beer. He is the first Australian to have studied traditional German brewing methods, known as Ausbildung Als Brauer Und Mälzer (apprenticeship as a brewer and maltster). Chloe is all hands on with sales, collab’s and running all things creative.

Burnley brewing focuses on making a wide variety of beers using traditional German brewing methods in a market that attracts beer lovers from all corners. The team is always pulling together to brew new and exciting beers.
